For the second time in a row, the EPCALM Foundation has been recognized as a “Kabalikat Awardee” by the St. Luke’s Medical Center-Global City (SLMC-GC) Blood Bank and Transfusion Services, for EPCALM’s consistent contribution to its voluntary blood donation program.

In fitting ceremonies at the Henry Sy Sr. Auditorium of the SLMC-GC in Taguig City, other organizations were also honored during the Blood Donors Recognition Day, held annually to pay tribute to the silent heroes who selflessly donate their blood to save countless lives.

During the Program, two regular blood donors related their voluntary blood donation testimonies and how giving blood affected their lives. Pastor Fernando Agustin, an EPCALM Member and regular blood donor during EPCALM-spearheaded bloodletting activities, likened his personal act of kindness as a mission to offer a lifeline for those battling various llnesses.

Meanwhile, the SLMC-GC Blood Bank also gave its Four-Star Awarde to Engr. Justice Z. Demerre, EPCALM President and Chief Executive Officer for his consistent dedication and contribution to blood donation over the years. His award served as a powerful reminder that commitment to this cause leaves a lasting impact on the lives of others.

Also recognized were the past and present efforts of blood donors, who continue to inspire future champions and lifesavers. It reaffirmed the deep appreciation of SLMC-GC for individuals and organizations, whose collective efforts embody the message that donating blood can truly save lives. (Sr. Minerva F. Jumawid)
