On the commemoration of the 19th Founding Anniversary of the EPCALM Adult Leukemia of the Philippines, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte lauded the efforts of the Foundation to provide assistance and allied services to adult leukemia patients and their families all over the country. Since 2005, the EPCALM Foundation has responded to the increasing number of adult leukemia patients and addressed their various requirements, including the provision of spiritual care, guided medical options, resource development, and psycho-social intervention, among others. “Your commitment has always been to ensure that each patient receives not only the best medical care, but also the emotional, and practical support needed to navigate this challenging journey,” Mayor Belmonte said, adding that “We have seen the profound impact that a personalized approach can have on patients and their families.” “Each leukemia diagnosis is unique, and so are the needs of every patient. By tailoring your support programs to address individual circumstances, you have been providing more effective and compassionate care,” the Quezon City Chief Executive continued. Mayor Belmonte also highlighted the thrust of EPCALM: “Family is at the heart of your mission. Through a dedicated team of registered Social Workers, staff members, and volunteers, the EPCALM Foundation endeavors to address various concerns of its serviced patients and their families through every step of their leukemia journey.
