This is the inspiring story of Annabelle, who spoke at the EPCALM Family Huddle on 25 February 2023. She recounts the early signs of her illness, and her journey following a leukemia diagnosis in July 2019. Despite the challenges of her diagnosis, her infectious zest for life remains undiminished. Kim shares her journey through leukemia during the EPCALM Family Huddle held on 19 November 2022. This event was our first in-person activity at the EPCALM House in New Manila, Quezon City, since the start of the pandemic in March 2019. Kim was declared cancer-free on 21 September 2024. Julie Ann was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia in July 2017. During the online Family Huddle on 25 March 2022, she shared that the seriousness of her condition did not initially sink in, leading her to first explore alternative healthcare options. Eventually, she underwent chemotherapy in Manila. After an arduous journey, she was officially declared a leukemia survivor on 23 April 2023. (Posted March 2022)

Hector has undergone a long battle with acute lymphocytic leukemia. On 28 January 2022, during an online Family Huddle, his wife, Mithuselah, narrated his journey. In September of that same year, his oncologist confirmed he was in remission. While Hector continues his healing journey, he still faces physical challenges, including complete hearing loss in his right ear and only faint hearing in his left. Kirby, from Sagay, Negros Occidental, was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia. He needs your help for his medical treatment. He also requests for your prayers. Despite his serious health condition, he is determined to be well someday: “I will not quit!” (Posted October 2016)

Cabanag-Demerre, highlights how the "bayanihan spirit"—the Filipino value of communal unity and selfless assistance—was channeled to support Dr. Sarah Moral-Ramos during her battle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She narrates how her friends and colleagues joined hands to raise funds for her medical bills, working together to support a colleague in need without expecting anything in return. Rene visits the EPCALM Office to express his gratitude for the assistance extended to him during his chemotherapy treatment. He was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia. Community Fund Raiser for Leukemia Patient Karen Pajarillaga, held at the BF Homes Executive Village Association (HEVA) Clubhouse at BF Homes, Paranaque City, Metro Manila last December 30, 2010. EPCALM Adult Leukemia Foundation of the Philippines, Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit organization that endeavors to help Leukemia victims through its Spiritual, Medical and Financial arms.

A dedicated internist-cardiologist, Dr. Johnel returned to his home province of Occidental Mindoro to serve the marginalized. In 2009, his practice was interrupted by a diagnosis of myelodysplastic syndrome. Despite his health challenges, he remained steadfast in his faith. We celebrate with him as he was declared a leukemia survivor on 16 April 2019. (Posted August 2012)

After years of treatment, we are joyful to share that she was declared cancer-free in September 2015.
