SLMC-GC Dept. of Medicine, EPCALM join forces for voluntary blood drive
In a strong demonstration of partnership and shared commitment to patients with blood cancers and other serious illnesses, the Department of Medicine of St. Luke’s Medical Center–Global City (SLMC-GC) and the EPCALM Foundation successfully conducted “Pulse Protocol,” a special voluntary blood donation drive on 14 September 2026.
Held at the Conference Rooms 1–4, 5th Floor of SLMC-GC in Taguig City, the bloodletting activity was organized to celebrate “Medicine Week” and in observance of Blood Cancer Awareness Month. It underscored the vital role of voluntary blood donation in supporting patients who require blood and blood products throughout their treatment journey.
A shared commitment. The collaboration between the SLMC-GC Department of Medicine and EPCALM reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that patients with leukemia and other blood disorders and cancers have access to this precious, life-saving resource.
For many patients, particularly those undergoing intensive treatment, blood and blood products can be an essential part of care, making a steady and adequate blood supply critical.
Through “Pulse Protocol,” physicians, hospital personnel, partners, and members of the community came together to turn compassion into action. Each successful donation represented more than a unit of blood—it represented a potential lifeline for a patient and another reason for a family to hope.
Continuing advocacy for blood donation. For EPCALM, the activity forms part of its continuing advocacy for voluntary blood donation and improved access to blood and blood products for adult leukemia patients. The Foundation recognizes that supporting leukemia patients goes beyond financial and medical assistance; it also means helping build stronger communities of donors and advocates who can respond when patients need blood the most.
EPCALM extends its heartfelt appreciation to the SLMC-GC Department of Medicine, the Medical and Blood Bank teams, volunteer donors, organizers, and everyone who contributed to the success of this worthy activity.
