The leukemia journey of Ernesto P. Laxamana, 70, is a testament to resilience and the amazing power of family support. Originally from Concepcion, Tarlac, he moved to Angeles City, Pampanga, to build a better life for his family, establishing himself through his work as a tailor in Dau, Pampanga.
His life took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). Despite his healthy lifestyle, sudden weight loss led to a diagnosis that initially caused significant emotional turmoil.
However, with the steadfast support of his wife, Resie, and their children, Ernesto transitioned from a period of struggle to one of proactive determination. The Laxamana family has remained united throughout this challenge, drawing strength from their faith and their close-knit community.
Ernesto has actively sought medical assistance through organizations, such as the Pampanga CML Warriors, where he found both specialized care and valuable camaraderie.
Our EPCALM social workers have noted Ernesto’s remarkable positivity and steady commitment to his well-being. Guided by his family and his strong faith in God, he continues to face his journey with grace and optimism.
