The EPCALM Foundation joined various healthcare providers, patient group leaders, and advocacy organizations for the Patient Solidarity Day 2025 celebration. The whole-day event was held on 11 December 2025 at ArdenHills Suites in Quezon City. Organized by the Philippine Association of Patient Organizations (PAPO), it centered on the theme, “Pagyamanin ang Kalusugan: Embracing Patients, Empowering Voices”
The program focused on patient empowerment, equitable access to healthcare, and the vital role of patients in shaping health policies. A key segment included guidance on accessing and claiming PhilHealth benefits and available healthcare packages. Patient testimonies highlighted persistent challenges in affordability, quality of care, and the need for stronger implementation of existing health laws.

A significant portion of the event featured a presentation of PhilHealth programs:
YAKAP (Yaman ng Kalusugan Program): Presented by Dr. Melanie C. Santillan, YAKAP offers holistic support through health education, navigation guidance, and emotional/psychosocial assistance. It empowers patients through community-based care.
GAMOT (Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment): Presented by Dr. Luigi Sabile, GAMOT ensures reliable access to essential medications for patients, particularly those with chronic illnesses, by reducing financial barriers.
PAPO concluded the event by reiterating its dedication to uniting patient groups and enhancing nationwide advocacy efforts. The gathering successfully strengthened collaboration among patients, healthcare professionals, and civil society organizations, reaffirming that patients must remain at the center of every healthcare decision.
