EPCALM joins other PAPO patient groups to discuss priority advocacy activities

The EPCALM Foundation recently joined other patient groups of the Philippine Alliance of Patient Organizations (PAPO) for its General Assembly held on 7 May 2026, at the Ardenhills Suites in Quezon City. The meeting focused on assessing the past year's performance, improving member communication, and outlining priority activities for the current year.

During the assembly, PAPO President Christopher Munoz highlighted significant achievements in sustaining partnerships with government agencies, private corporations, and NGOs to build patient capacity.

Additionally, Board Member Arsenia Torres encouraged patient group leaders to participate in the ongoing PAPO-PhilHealth collaborative podcasts to increase public awareness of their respective advocacies.

Moving forward, PAPO aims to increase patient representation by participating in various Technical Working Groups, councils, and health-related boards.

By working with patients and healthcare stakeholders, the group continues to advocate for patient-centered Universal Health Coverage (UHC) to ensure patients’ voices are heard across the healthcare sector. (By Jefriel P. Sumandag)
