EPCALM receives rice donation from Ocean Star

EPCALM recently received a generous gift of ten 25-kilo sacks of rice from Ocean Star Freight Express, a sea freight forwarding company based in Quezon City. The donated rice will be distributed shortly to EPCALM’s serviced patients and their families. 

Anna Marie Gutierrez, company manager, together with her sister, Rosie, company owner, said they selected EPCALM as beneficiary of its outreach program based on the latter’s holistic mission and vision to reach out and support leukemia patients.

For 20 years now, EPCALM has provided personalized, family-oriented programs and allied services to adult leukemia patients as the first and only non-government patient group of its kind in the country. Our three service arms—Spiritual, Medical, and Financial—operate on the Christian principle that God is the Hope, the Healer, and the Provider.

The guiding motto of Ocean Star is an aphorism popularized by Japanese writer, Ryunosuke Satoro: “Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean.” This philosophy of unity and collective strength mirrors its commitment to the human experience.
