SEPTEMBER: FROM AWARENESS TO ACTION

September holds special significance for EPCALM as World Leukemia Awareness Month. In the Philippines, September is also observed as Blood Cancer Awareness Month, pursuant to Proclamation No. 1833, which calls for greater public awareness of blood cancers and blood disorders.

For EPCALM, September is a month of heightened awareness and advocacy—an opportune time to amplify the voices of adult leukemia patients and their families, deepen public understanding of the disease, and call for greater compassion, support, and access to care.

Throughout the month, EPCALM shines a light on the realities of living with leukemia, honors the courage of patients and survivors, recognizes the families, healthcare professionals, donors, volunteers, and advocates who walk alongside them, and encourages communities to turn awareness into meaningful action.

But awareness should not end with September. For patients and families, leukemia is lived every day. EPCALM remains committed to standing with them throughout their journey—providing hope, support, and a community they can count on.
